Race Info / Date for 2021 registration

I don't remember seeing anything about a 2021 registration date. Will there be an earlier date for those who deferred the 2020 Ascent registration to 2021 than for new registrations?

We are estimating 5-10 seconds between the rows and then a total of 3-5 minutes between the waves. (a minute or so to release the wave in front, then 2 or 3 to get the next wave into position)

So wave 2, row 5 (we count from zero for the rows) you are looking at about 7:04 to 7:06 or so. Give or take a minute or two.

Hey John,

Can you provide an estimate for the time between each row in a starting wave? Just trying to estimate actual start time for myself. I'm number 247 this year. I am not asking for a scientifically accurate number, just wondering if it's ~ 1 minute between each line of 10, or ~10 seconds.

Thanks!

Training / Re: O2 trainers - thoughts?

Altitude training can produce increases in speed, strength, endurance, and recovery by maintaining altitude exposure for a significant period of time. A study using simulated altitude exposure for 18 days, yet training closer to sea-level, showed performance gains were still evident 15 days later. Is there’s a way to increase the Red blood cells by training without travelling over 5000 feet above sea level? Yes, there’s away. We bring mountains down to you. Who we are? Thanks for the response.  Very helpful...  I'm glad you mentioned the weighted vest as that's what I was thinking to use when hiking and doing hill repeats.  I'm just outside of Chicago, so we have hills but none that are very long or steep.  I'd say the longest is probably 1/4 mile.  So can just up the pace on that...

Even before all this Corona stuff going on, my plan was to ramp up mileage via moderate paced running...working up to an "easy" feeling 16 miles.  Then adding general strength work (with high intensity) as well as hill work with added weight.

Mind sharing what some of your workouts were?
