Title: Restrooms
Post by: ericsonb5 on July 22, 2018, 07:44:44 AM
With all of the altitude increase and subsequent water intake, I foresee many restroom stops.  Is it acceptable to use wooded areas?

Remember tho, no wooded areas the last 3 miles from A-Frame to the top, just a lot of rocks... There will be outhouses at the summit tho. Barr Camp has a few restrooms as well.

My first PPM there was a woman peeing about 10ft off the trail as I ran by. Time is more important than modesty! Above treeline you're more likely to need to throw up than pee if you're not acclimated. Try to do it off trail.  ;)

Many people never have an issue.  But I know if you can make it to Bob's Road there is a truck there that you can go behind (along with others). And at Barr Camp there are toilets.  If you are modest and want privacy, you may have to walk a ways off trail to get out of view.
